South Africa announce team for U19 Women's T20 World Cup 2025

The South African U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 squad has been revealed. Kayla Reyneke, an all-around athlete, will lead the squad, which also has two capped players.

The competition, which will begin on January 18, will give young players a chance to demonstrate their abilities. This competition, which will be hosted in Malaysia, will be its second iteration. Following their disappointing performance at home in the previous edition,

The South Africa team will be one to keep an eye on as they look to put on a strong showing.

Reyneke, the captain, also played for the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup team in the past. In the most recent edition, which took place in 2023, she got eight wickets and scored 113 runs. Two capped players who were already on the team in the last edition, Seshni Naidu and Karabo Meso, will be in the squad in addition to her. Among the players returning to the U19 Women’s World Cup for the second time are Simone Lourens, Nthabiseng Nini, Mona-Lisa Legodi, and Jemma Botha.

Under Shafali Verma‘s leadership, the India Women U-19 team won the previous tournament and became its first winners after defeating the England U19 Women by seven wickets in the championship match.

South Africa Women’s U-19 squad: Kayla Reyneke (captain), Jemma Botha, Fay Cowling, Jae-Leigh Filander, Mona-Lisa Legodi, Simoné Lourens, Karabo Meso, Seshnie Naidu, Nthabiseng Nini, Luyanda Nzuza, Diara Ramlakan, Diedré van Rensburg, Mieke van Voorst, Ashleigh van Wyk, Chanel Venter.
