South Africa announce squads for multi-format series

The team for the forthcoming men’s tour of England has been announced by Cricket South Africa (CSA). Three ODIs and an equal number of 20-over matches will be among the several white-ball forms used during the tour. Temba Bavuma will captain the team in the one-dayers, while Aiden Markram will lead the T20I team. During the three ODIs, Markram will serve as Bavuma’s deputy.

In fact, after making an impression on the selectors during the current ODI series against Australia, spinner Keshav Maharaj has been added to the T20 team. Following his game-winning five-wicket haul in the first match, Maharaj was named the top bowler in ODIs in the most recent rankings. He now hopes to duplicate these performances in the game’s shortest format.

In our most recent T20I series, we were experimenting with spin-bowling all-rounders, and Keshav was always a part of our bigger ambitions. Rabada’s injury update

Additionally, the Proteas have provided an update on the health of their star pacer, Kagiso Rabada. Notably, Rabada was unable to play in the ODIs against Australia due to an ailment that was confirmed by scans. Even though he will be heading to the UK with the rest of the team, his involvement in the series is still being questioned. Kwena Maphaka has been recruited by South Africa to both lineups as a pacer substitute.

We’re hoping he’ll be able to play in some of the ODI series. However, we shall adopt a cautious strategy and give T20I cricket top priority. We’re not going to rush him back,” Conrad said.
