You will eventually need to experiment with new abilities. It is true that India has a great deal of talent," Sourav Ganguly remarked.

The BCCI has just announced India’s team for the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa. Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara were two prominent names that were absent from the Test squad, despite the fact that numerous veterans were picked. The team contained youthful players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad and left out the two seasoned hitters.

Many people think that Rahane and Pujara’s days of playing red-ball cricket for Team India are over. Regarding the same subject, Sourav Ganguly, a former Indian captain, also shared his thoughts. According to the 51-year-old, sportspeople come and go, and there will always be an opportunity to give future athletes a chance to represent India at the highest level.

You will eventually need to experiment with new abilities. It occurs; the team needs to advance because India has a wealth of skill. NDTV cited Sourav Ganguly as saying, “Pujara and Rahane had tremendous success for India; sport doesn’t remain with you forever.”

Ganguly also emphasized that nobody can play at the best level all the time and that everyone experiences what occurred to the senior duo. The 51-year-old acknowledged the value of adding fresh talent to the team while also thanking Pujara and Rahane for their contributions to international cricket.

“It won’t stay with you forever; everyone will experience it. The way things are, selectors want new faces, and I have to applaud them for what they have done for Indian cricket,” he continued.

It’s important to remember that India and South Africa will play a multi-format series that consists of two Test matches, three ODIs, and three T20Is. On December 26 at Centurion, the Test series is scheduled to begin. In Cape Town, the second Test will begin on January 3.
