Smriti Mandhana tops ICC Women's ODI Rankings again

India batter Smriti Mandhana has recaptured the top ICC Women’s ODI batting spot. The 28-year-old rose one spot to top the list for the first time since November 2019.

South Africa’s captain Laura Wolvaardt fell to joint-second place with England’s new skipper Nat Siver-Brunt after scoring 27 and 28 in the first two ODIs against the West Indies.

After Wolvaardt’s six-month reign ended, Smriti Mandhana took over with 727 ratings points to the runners-up’s 719.

Wolvaardt’s teammate Tazmin Brits rose five places to 27th with her half-century in the first match of the three-match series, which is level after South Africa won the second match in Barbados by 40 runs after losing the first by four wickets.

In other moves, former Proteas captain Suné Luus struck 76 in the second match to rise seven spots to 42nd in the batters and bowlers lists.

West Indies opener Qiana Joseph rose 12 spots to joint-67th after her 60 in their first match.

After taking four wickets in the second match, spinners Afy Fletcher and Nonkululeko Mlaba rose four and six spots to 19th and 23rd position, respectively.
