Sri Lanka vs India, 1st ODI, Weather Forecast, and Pitch Report at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo

The first ODI between India and Sri Lanka will take place as part of their current white-ball series. On Friday, August 2, both teams will face off at Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium. Both teams recently played a three-game Twenty20 International series, with the Indian squad winning each game as they defeated Sri Lanka at home.

The Indian team will be captained by Rohit Sharma as the ODI series draws near, and Virat Kohli will also be rejoining the team.

Many supporters have expressed concern about the first ODI’s weather conditions as it approaches. The match is quickly approaching.

According to Accuweather, overcast conditions with a probability of rain are anticipated at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Due to the clouds, the temperature is predicted to remain between 31 and 28 degrees Celsius, which could cause some swing for the bowlers. Although there is still a chance, supporters will hope for a match without rain.

Pitch analysis for R Premadasa Stadium

Specifically, the R Premadasa Stadium’s pitch is dry because to the tropical surroundings, therefore hitters would try to take advantage of that. Nevertheless, as the pitch ages, it slows down, giving the bowlers more opportunity to influence the outcome of the game.

In Colombo, support for spinning and bouncing can be anticipated as the spinners attempt to maximise the surface. With a victory in the opening ODI, the visitors hope to continue their winning streak. However, Sri Lanka will be driven to make improvements. Having lost both of their previous games, the hosts will be desperate for a comeback in the extended format.
