The 16-man roster for the forthcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka in June includes Ebadot Hossain, who has returned to the Bangladesh Test team after almost two years away. Following his recovery from ACL surgery following an injury he sustained during an ODI match against Afghanistan in July 2023, the right-arm bowler is back.
Ebadot Hossain participated in 27 games during the 2024–25 season, three of which were in the first division.
In May, one of those was against the New Zealand A team on tour. So far, he has taken 42 wickets in 20 Test matches.
Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Tanvir Islam, and Tanzim Hasan were left off of the Bangladeshi team’s roster for the Sri Lanka series by the selectors. Taskin Ahmed, a quick bowler, also misses out because he hasn’t fully recovered from an ankle ailment.
Following a sabbatical during the home Test series against Zimbabwe in April, wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das is back in the red-ball format. Additionally, Hasan Murad, a left-arm spinner, has been called up for the series.
Last year, he was a member of the teams that toured South Africa and the West Indies. Murad spent the majority of the 2024–25 season travelling with the national team in the National Cricket League, although playing just three first-class games.
The 2025–27 cycle of the ICC World Test Championship begins with this series. In April, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe drew their most recent Test series at home.
On June 13, the Bangladeshi team is anticipated to land in Sri Lanka. The first Test will begin on June 17 in Galle, and the second Test will begin on June 25 at the Singhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo. Three ODIs and three T20Is will round up the tour, which runs through July 16.
