Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin seemed to enjoy the slow-turning pitches that the island nation produced, despite the fact that India lost the series despite their batters being trapped by the many traps Sri Lankan spinners used. This was evident from Ashwin’s tweet.
Midway through the third ODI’s first innings, when Sri Lanka eventually hit their highest score in the series (248/7), Ashwin tweeted that he was enjoying the pitches’ frequent variations in Sri Lanka.
Pointing out that the pitches frequently collapsed, testing the batters’ endurance, he made a light-hearted comment on how the younger generation, used to fast-paced cricket and huge scores, would probably find such sluggish, demanding conditions hard to bear.

The tweet was made just hours before India’s disastrous collapse occurred, when the Lankans cleverly outmanoeuvred their opponents to win the series finale by a commanding 110 runs. With this victory, Sri Lanka won a bilateral series for the first time in 27 years against India.
In terms of himself, Ashwin has been doing well lately in his cricket endeavours. With skill and poise, the 37-year-old led the Dindigul Dragons to the first-ever Tamil Nadu Premier League championship.

His all-around performance was outstanding throughout the tournament; in nine innings, he scored 252 runs with a phenomenal strike rate of 151.80. He also claimed nine wickets in ten innings at an incredibly economical economy rate of 6.92.
