In the 2024–25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, mind games are becoming more popular, and Mohammed Siraj was involved in the bail-switching once more. The pacer, who had done the same thing with the bails earlier in the series, gave the battle between Siraj and Marnus Labuschagne a new dimension. The event happened on the first day when Siraj went up to the stumps to change the bails in the 43rd over.
Despite Labuschagne’s determination following the unconventional approach, Jasprit Bumrah produced the outcome in the forty-fifth over.
On the opening delivery of the over, after Siraj had played for over 12 balls, Bumrah removed the well-set Usman Khawaja. Khawaja put up a vital 65-run partnership with Labuschagne for the second wicket and scored 57 runs off 121 balls.

Siraj was charging at Labuschagne during his spell following lunch, but Labuschagne was looking strong in his defence and delivered a few hits. But in the end, Washington Sundar, a spinner, got the right-handed hitter. With seven boundaries, he ultimately scored 72 runs off 145 balls. He and Steven Smith also shared an 83-run partnership for the third wicket.
With a 1-1 record, there is much to play for: Rohit Sharma
Both teams need to win the fourth Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground after the first one ended in a draw at The Gabba. With a 1-1 series tie, the Melbourne Test could determine how the series unfolds and swing the tide for one team. Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, reiterated that same point after losing the December 26 coin toss.
“It seems like a fantastic wicket, and we would have batted (first) too. We have a lot to play for in the 1-1 series, which makes it the ideal chance to showcase our team’s strengths. Regardless of the circumstances, you must fight. We are excited for the new day that is ahead of us. Washington (Sundar) replaces (Shubman) Gill, therefore there is one change. When asked if he would bat first, Rohit responded, “Yes, I will,” during the toss.
