In ODI cricket, Ravindra Jadeja has recently struggled with the bat and the ball. But Mohammed Siraj backed the famous all-rounder, claiming that a single wicket would improve the situation.
Jadeja has only taken one wicket in his previous five One-Day Internationals (ODIs), averaging an incredible 257 runs with the ball and conceding runs at an economy rate of 6.11. In four appearances, he has amassed 87 runs with the bat. In the current series against the Kiwis, he has only scored 31 runs and gone wicketless.
“I don’t believe there is any cause for alarm. One wicket is constantly at stake. The bowling is doing well; if you take one wicket, the bowler’s confidence will change. Siraj stated, “I don’t see any concern” (via Cricbuzz).
When asked about the team’s mood going into Sunday’s (January 18) series final at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore, Siraj responded that the senior players’ contributions had significantly reduced the anxiety.
“We are receiving a lot of feedback from the seniors, which is why the mood is excellent. It feels like we’re under a lot of pressure because we won the first game before playing the second.
For him, we have a strategy: Regarding Indian bowlers’ difficulties against Daryl Mitchell, Mohammed Siraj
India has been the object of Daryl Mitchell’s affection. Having scored 215 runs at an average of 215 in two innings, he is the series’ top scorer. The right-handed hitter helped the Kiwis regain series parity in the second ODI in Rajkot by smashing an incredible tonne.
Siraj claimed that despite the Indian bowlers’ best efforts to bring Mitchell out cheaply, his abilities and initiative had given him the advantage.
“In Rajkot, we made every effort to free him. For him, we had a strategy. As you can see, even the best batter in the world can make errors. The situation would have been different if we had seized the chance when a catch was dropped. He is definitely thinking and batting with a strategy, as evidenced by the way he bats against spin, particularly in the middle overs, taking singles and doubles, Siraj observed.
“The ball was hitting the bat brilliantly in Rajkot because there wasn’t much dew. In this match, we will attempt to accomplish our goal of getting him out as soon as possible,” the pacemaker continued.
