Since ace all-rounder Sikandar Raza returned to the Test setup after missing the Bangladesh tour because of his PSL 2025 obligations, the confidence will increase a little more.
In 18 Test matches, the seasoned hitter has amassed 1,286 runs and taken 38 wickets. The addition of the top cricket player will give Zimbabwe’s lineup more depth.
The Zimbabwean team for the one-time Test match against England has been revealed. The match is set to start on May 22 at Nottingham’s Trent Bridge. Zimbabwe will arrive in England on a high note and full of confidence after recently drawing their two-match Test series against Bangladesh.
Due to the English conditions, Newman Takudzwa Nyamhuri, a left-arm pacer, also joined the team to add some swing. Clive Madande, a batsman and wicketkeeper who made his Test debut against Ireland, has also been included in the squad.
Ben Curran, a Northampton native and top-order batsman, has also found a spot in the team. The batter will now wear the away shirt when he plays against his home country. His brothers, Tom and Sam Curran, are both England internationals.
Ben Stokes led the England selection when it was previously named, and aside from two uncapped players, Jordan Cox and Sam Cook, the lineup will be seasoned. The four-day match will not be included in the World Test Championship cycle because the visitors are ineligible based on their rankings. In addition to the Ashes, the hosts’ primary attention will be on their forthcoming five-match Test series against India in June.
