“It’s about mental toughness and turning starts into a big one,” Shubman says in reference to a challenging period during the West Indies tour.

In the final ODI in Trinidad, India is hitting the ball well.

Shubman
In the current series between the West Indies and India, Shubman Gill’s batting performance was a hot topic. The young player struggled in the Test matches, and his performance didn’t significantly improve in the first two ODIs of the series. Thus, there was some level of stress prior to the ODI World Cup, particularly since Ishan Kishan is now having a great year.

Shubman Gill addressed the matter and acknowledged that there is now a drop in form before the series’ final ODI. He remarked that he wasn’t happy right now and continued by noting that it was about mental toughness and turning little beginnings into significant totals.

“I’ve been on this tour, and things haven’t gone very well for me. I have, however, been hitting well. Before the third ODI in Trinidad, Shubman Gill reminded broadcasters that it was all about mental toughness and turning small successes into huge ones.

After resolving his issues, Shubman Gill was able to quickly get back to normal. The cricket player and Ishan Kishan provided India with the best possible start in the third game, setting the tone with a 143-run partnership. While Gill also scored a half-century and will now try to reach a three-figure mark, the southpaw managed to score 77 runs off 64 deliveries (at the time this article was written).

The absence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma raises additional concerns.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were rested for the final two games of the series in order to give each player a chance to perform ahead of the ODI World Cup. As India’s top order appeared to be established, this has led to more questions. The decision to try something fresh has drawn a lot of criticism because Rohit and Virat are both assured to start the competition.

However, India was able to get off to a flawless start in the middle, and if they wind up winning the series, it is anticipated that the conversation will slow down. However, if things don’t turn out that way, this may end up being the most talked-about issue going into the competition.
