Shubman Gill Fan Recreates ‘I Love You Zaheer’ Scene

In Delhi, star Indian skipper Shubman Gill once again commanded attention with both his bat and a viral fan experience.

The famous “I love you Zaheer” moment from years ago was recreated when a female fan in the stands during the second Test match against the West Indies held up a banner that read, “I love you Shubman.” The sign was swiftly captured by the cameras, and the video went viral on social media.

In red-ball cricket, Shubman Gill maintained his purple patch by amassing an incredible 129 not out off 196 balls, which was his fifth Test century and his tenth as captain.

Along with surpassing Rohit Sharma’s record, he also tied Virat Kohli’s record for the most Test hundreds by an Indian captain in a calendar year. 16 fours and two sixes in his knock helped the home club reach 518 for five declared in the first inning.

B Sai Sudharsan’s 87 and Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 175 both made significant contributions that carried over into Gill’s innings. The team controlled proceedings from Day 1 thanks to the efforts of the two. Midway through Day 2, right after Dhruv Jurel’s removal, Gill made the decision to declare the innings. Nitish Kumar Reddy (43) and Jurel (44) both made significant cameos.

After 28 overs of replying, the West Indies were still 437 runs down at 87 for 2. Following John Campbell’s dismissal at short leg when he was caught off B Sai Sudharsan’s helmet, Tagenarine Chanderpaul (34) and Alick Athanaze (38) steadied the score. With both wickets taken by Ravindra Jadeja, India had a strong chance to end Day 2 strongly.
