The way that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma batted through the second innings of the third ODI of the Australia-India series thrilled Shubman Gill. At the Sydney Cricket Ground, India easily won the match thanks to Rohit and Kohli’s undefeated 168-run partnership for the second wicket.
It was ‘nice to see’, Shubman Gill said of the second innings.
The nine-wicket triumph at the SCG was similarly categorized by him as a “special win on a special ground.”
We played an almost flawless game. The chase was entertaining to watch. As Rohit and Kohli have done for so long, it was entertaining to watch. “It was a unique victory on a unique field,” Shubman Gill said at the presentation after the game.
Before praising players like Matt Renshaw and Nathan Ellis for their performances, Mitchell Marsh, like Shubman Gill, praised the Rohit and Kohli team and their illustrious history.
“We’ve witnessed Rohit and Virat perform it against numerous teams over the past ten years. At the end of our first inning, we needed one more stand. Our platform at 195 for three was excellent. We failed to cash in. India was too skilled with the bat. I believe the seasoned players who entered the game, like Matt Renshaw and Nathan Ellis, performed admirably, and we can be pleased to have won the series after two games,” he continued.
Using the DLS technique, India lost the first two matches by seven wickets, and the first two ODIs by two wickets. The recently finished game saw far greater competition from the Men in Blue. With the ball, Harshit Rana also made an impression. He claimed four wickets (4/39 in 8.4 overs).
Australia took 46.4 overs to be bowled out for 236. Each bowler on the visiting team made a contribution by taking at least one wicket. Matt Renshaw had a 56 off 58 score. It was his third 50-over encounter and he scored his first ODI fifty.
