Shreyas Iyer has been appointed the team’s captain ahead of Abhimanyu Easwaran, and Dhruv Jurel has been named the vice-captain. India A’s 15-man team for the forthcoming series against Australia A was revealed by the All India Men’s Senior Selection Committee, which is led by Ajit Agarkar. The series will start with a couple of four-day matches. Aakash Chopra, a famous commentator and former cricket player for India, is not happy about this.
The former India opener stated that there is no consistency in preserving a certain level of stability on the leadership front and that the issue of assigning captaincy to the players has devolved into a game of musical chairs. Chopra also thinks that even though Iyer isn’t a regular in the Test squad, he was picked as captain of the India A red-ball team because he thinks that the forthcoming home conditions could help him make a return.
“Three straight series have had different captains. What’s going on? The skipper is Shreyas Iyer, and the vice-captain is Dhruv Jurel. Though his name has vanished from the list, I believe that Abhimanyu Easwaran was once the captain. In a video posted to his own YouTube channel, Chopra stated, “He is undoubtedly a member of the team, but his name is not on the list of captains and vice-captains.”
“Shreyas Iyer has arrived, and if you watch the most recent series, you’ll see that each one has a new commander.
Thus, India A captaincy has devolved into a musical chairs situation. For what reason has Shreyas Iyer been promoted? The reason for this is that the No. 3 and No. 6 places are still open. The name of Sai Sudharsan is undoubtedly there. Thus, he is a member of this team as well. The cricketer-turned-commentator went on to say, “His name is also there, and he is a part of this team.”
