Shreyas Iyer’s injury update brings relief for Team India

When Shreyas Iyer was hurt in the third ODI against Australia on Saturday, October 25, he suffered a severe injury to his abdomen that caused internal bleeding and a laceration of his spleen.

The bleeding was soon stopped after the damage was quickly recognized. His condition has stabilized, and he is still being monitored. A follow-up scan on Tuesday, October 28th, revealed a notable improvement, and Shreyas Iyer is making progress toward recovery. His progress will be continuously monitored by the BCCI Medical Team, in cooperation with experts in Sydney and India.

What was Shreyas Iyer’s precise fate?

Shreyas Iyer, a key member of the Indian side, was fielding at the backward point region on October 25 at the Sydney Cricket Ground in the third and final One-Day International of the series against Australia. During the 34th over, Australia’s Alex Carey tried a crazy slog on a delivery from Harshit Rana, but it gave Shreyas Iyer a chance. He ran behind and covered a lot of ground before making a wonderful grab.

But when the 30-year-old finished the catch, he fell clumsily on his stomach, which caused a damage to his rib cage. The scans after the cricket player was admitted to the hospital after leaving the SCG revealed that he had suffered significant internal bleeding. Shreyas Iyer was taken to the St. Vincent’s Private Hospital in Sydney, where he was sent to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and treatment operations began right away.

According to the reports, Shreyas Iyer survived a fatal accident because the injuries may have been life-threatening if it had been a bit more severe. Iyer is currently one of the most valuable hitters in the team, thus BCCI physio Kamlesh Jain and his support crew wasted no time in making sure he got the finest care possible. It is anticipated that he will be released before this week’s end.
