The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) notified the International Cricket Council (ICC) that the Men in Blue would not be traveling to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy next year, but there has been no update on the confirmation of the host location. India’s matches would be played at a neutral location, such as the United Arab Emirates, as part of a hybrid tournament model that the ICC then asked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) if they would be interested in hosting. PCB head Mohsin Naqvi, however, is refusing to make any concessions and is adamant about hosting the entire event in Pakistan.
Shoaib Akhtar, a former bowler for Pakistan, has offered an intriguing perspective on the main event, which has come to a standstill.
