Cricketer Shimron Hetmyer of the West Indies is currently out of the lineup for the forthcoming series against Australia, having been left out of both the ODI and T20I squads. Shimron Hetmyer was dropped against England towards the end of last year after he was unable to establish himself. This omission follows his struggles.
The T20I squad now includes Jason Holder and Kyle Mayers, who chose not to participate in the test trip because of their franchise obligations. Shai Hope captains the ODI team, but the pair is noticeably missing from it. Potential debutants Teddy Bishop and Tevin Imlach are included in the ODI team, along with returned all-rounders Justin Greaves and Kavem Hodge and legspinner Hayden Walsh Jr.
Shimron Hetmyer exclusion suggests that the team’s tactics may have changed as a result of his recent difficulties against England.
He has an ODI average of 32.23 and a strike rate of 104.55. Chief selector Desmond Haynes was upbeat about the ODI team’s ability to compete in Australia, pointing to the return of key players and new additions.
“We anticipate our ODI team to be highly competitive in Australia following a series victory over England. As reported by ESPN Cricinfo, chief selector Desmond Haynes stated, “We have a few new additions who have impressed over a significant period of time and a couple of returning players who we think will have an impact.”

The dates of the ODIs are set for February 2, 4, and 6 in Canberra, Sydney, and Melbourne, respectively. The T20Is are scheduled for February 9, 11, and 13 in Hobart, Adelaide, and Perth. While the T20I team has not yet been announced, David Warner is anticipated to be included, and Steven Smith will captain Australia in the one-day internationals.
