Shikhar Dhawan, a former opener for India, has opened the first-ever Residential Elite Cricket Academy in Pathankot with Da One Sports. The academy, which is located at Sandeepni Gurukul, aims to give young cricket players a disciplined setting that strikes a mix between formal education and excellent cricket training.
Da One Sports was founded by Dhawan with the goal of providing young athletes with long-term development pathways as opposed to transient training facilities. The goal of the residential academy’s introduction is to provide a comprehensive model that unifies academics, professional coaching, and residential facilities. The institution, which is situated in Pathankot, aims to provide students with academic stability while utilising the region’s frequently underutilised talent pool.
For aspiring cricket players, the Residential Elite Cricket Academy is a long-term development program. The institution will provide kids with structured academic support, competent coaching, and a secure residential setting where they may train.
Shikhar Dhawan emphasised the value of education in addition to sport when he announced the project.
“I have always thought that education and athletics should go hand in hand for a child’s complete development. We are establishing a disciplined and safe environment at Sandeepni Gurukul’s residential top cricket academy so that young players can dream high, train professionally, and develop with confidence. We shall all be proud if this platform contributes to the development of even one future Indian player or the next Shikhar Dhawan. He stated in a statement, “More importantly, I hope this initiative inspires many more kids to pick up sports and believe in themselves.”

Additionally, the academy is the cornerstone of Da One Sports’ philosophy, according to Group CEO Anshita Gupta.
“This residential academy embodies Da One’s core principles of creating pathways rather than merely facilities. Our goal is to establish a setting in which high-performance sports and education can coexist together. Sahil Mahajan, the founder chairman of Sandeepni Gurukul, talked candidly about the importance of the partnership.
“Our goal is to construct the largest cricket facility in Pathankot, where students from all over the area can come to train professionally while still juggling their academic obligations.” Our goal as a school has always been to provide the greatest academic and athletic opportunities, and this collaboration with Da One Sports only serves to reinforce that commitment,” he joked.
