In a match at Mullanpur’s Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium between the Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH),. PBKS, occupying the sixth spot in the points table, was keen to improve on their previous triumph, while SRH, fresh off a recent victory, sought to solidify their place in the standings.
After winning the toss, PBKS captain Shikhar Dhawan chose to field first to begin the game. After hitting four boundaries in his 15-ball 21 in the third over, SRH opener Travis Head appeared to be in fantastic form. But in the fourth over, Shikhar Dhawan’s outstanding running catch to remove Head caused a significant change in momentum.
Arshdeep Singh bowled a full delivery that was just outside off stump. Head missed his form and ended up slashing it over the line, maybe trying to hit it over the mid-off fielder. At mid-off, Dhawan had to track the ball over his shoulder as it shot straight up into the air.
Shikhar Dhawan easily made the catch, much to his teammates’ pleasure, while keeping his eyes firmly on the ball.

After the powerplay, PBKS seemed to be at ease.
The game’s turning point came from this dismissal. In addition to eliminating Head, the hot batter, it also turned the tide in favor of PBKS. Replays later in the opening ball of the inning revealed that Head had taken a tiny edge off the ball when he faced a delivery from Kagiso Rabada.

At the time, though, the PBKS players didn’t seem all that interested in going over the ruling again. It came to light later that Head had actually stolen the ball prior to being dismissed. After Arshdeep Singh removed Aiden Markram from the game in the same over, Head’s important wicket cost SRH their second wicket and left them trailing 27/2 after 4 overs.
The very next over, Sam Curran dismissed in-form Abhishek Sharma for 16, defying expectations of yet another massive innings. Shashank Singh, who was positioned at cover point, dug in to complete the catch. The Pat Cummins-led team is batting at 40/3 when the powerplay ends and needs a sizable partnership to pull them out of this hole.
