Shardul Thakur is OK following a near-accident during optional training.

Information from the Indian camp in South Africa claims that Shardul Thakur is in excellent health. The all-rounder is said to be recovering well after taking a knock to his left shoulder during a net session at Centurion on Saturday. He is doing OK, according to a source in the Indian squad.

It is known that neither Shardul Thakur nor the medical professionals of the Indian squad have suggested any course of action. Soon after being hit, Shardul resumed batting despite the injuries. The insider stressed, “There is absolutely no cause for concern.” “No problems.” India lost the first Test in three days in Centurion, where the incident took place during an optional training session.

It was stated that one of the support staff members was throwing punches at Shardul Thakur.

It was a training session that was voluntary, so only seven or eight players chose to attend. In addition to Shardul, they included captain Rohit Sharma, R Ashwin, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mukesh Kumar, Prasidh Krishna, and KS Bharat. Naturally, every coach was present at the location.

On Sunday morning, the Indian squad is expected to depart from Johannesburg and go to Cape Town for the second and final Test. The Test match, which begins at Newlands Stadium on January 3, has not yet been announced, although it is doubtful that the wicketkeeper’s position will alter. KL Rahul is anticipated to stay in as the wicketkeeper, even though he had a difficult time behind the wickets in the Centurion Test.

Whether the squad will stick with Prasidh Krishna, who made his debut in the first Test, is the main concern. The team management has considered Mukesh Kumar and Avesh Khan as replacements in light of the pacer’s underwhelming performance. Furthermore, it’s thought that Ravindra Jadeja, who was unable to participate in the first test because of stiffness in his back, is still eligible.
