Following a devastating loss in the opening Test match, Pakistan was predicted to be fired up to win the second match. That didn’t happen, though, as the opponents surprised the hosts once more by winning by six wickets to end the series. Captain Shan Masood was already under a great deal of strain, particularly following a crushing loss in Australia, and a series loss at home has only made matters worse.
The Pakistani captain expressed his tremendous disappointment following the series loss and said that the team had not learnt anything from their 2023 loss to Australia. He conducted an analysis and found that during his five matches as captain, Pakistan lost four of those matches. He anticipates that the team will improve in that area and that the players will reach a greater level of fitness.
Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shan Masood wondered if Pakistan had played a bowler short in the pivotal match when the move backfired.
We were looking forward to the home season, therefore we were really upset. We have not learnt our lessons, and the situation is identical to that of Australia. We reasoned that even if we were performing well in Australia, we still needed to improve. During my time here, we have dropped the team back into the game when we were leading four times. In the post-match remarks, the losing captain stated, “I believe that Test cricket requires something different in terms of fitness.”
“We must become more organised, fit, and prepared. We need to be more ready for England since the Test and domestic seasons will be lengthy, he continued.
Pakistan lost the opening match by ten wickets as a result of their misplaced decision to use four pacers. The team management decided to alter the game plan for the second match and insert a couple of spinners in place of the regular pacers.

“We felt the workload would be too much for three people to handle, so we played four fast bowlers in the first Test.” And the fact that we lost a fast bowler in each innings of this game showed that. We could have used another pacer, in my opinion, especially in this Test match when we only had 3 bowlers and 2 spinners.
