A shoulder ailment has forced fast bowling all-rounder Shamar Joseph to miss the current tour of Bangladesh, which is a huge upset for the West Indies. Jediah Blades had to return home for more rehabilitation after suffering a stress fracture to his lower back. Akeal Hosein and Ramon Simmonds have taken their places for the rest of the ODI series.
Shamar Joseph injury earlier this month was noteworthy since it prevented him from playing in the recently finished Test series against the Indian side, which the visitors lost 0-2.
Despite initially being a member of both the ODI and T20I squads, Shamar Joseph traveled with the team for the Bangladesh white-ball series and will not be participating in the series going forward. Since the Caribbeans lost by 74 runs in the first ODI in Dhaka, he did not play.
Shai Hope’s team is in a desperate attempt to salvage the series, and the second game will now take place on Tuesday, October 21 at the Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium. If they are granted the opportunity to bat second again, they will aim to avoid repeating their one-run series draw with the Mehidy Hasan Miraz-led team, since they were unable to chase down a pitiful total in the last game.
For three matches in Chattogram on October 27, October 29, and October 31, the teams will compete fiercely in 20 overs after the third and final ODI at the same location.
