On the fifth day of the first Test match between Bangladesh and Pakistan at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan loses his composure. Shakib became agitated with Mohammad Rizwan, who was batting with Shafique Abdullah, during the 33rd over of Pakistan’s second innings. Shakib lost momentum because the keeper-batter was taking too long to settle in, so he flung the ball towards Rizwan, shocking the umpire in the process.
The 37-year-old’s previous incident on the pitch only made the list. After acknowledging his error, Shakib apologised to the umpire, who regarded him with a severe look. Subsequently, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto approached the umpire to voice his displeasure about Rizwan’s time wastage, but the umpire paid little heed.

Bangladesh gained optimism of winning the match as Pakistan’s batting absolutely collapsed in the second innings. On the last day, the hosts are down nine runs at lunch and have just four wickets in hand. Bangladesh, sensing victory, was keen to finish first, but Rizwan was slowing things down, which infuriated Shakib.
Bangladesh’s current goal is to take Pakistan’s final four wickets and chase whichever total they manage to score. Shakib, Hasan Mahmud, Nahid Rana, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz have all taken two wickets apiece, indicating that the pitch is favouring the spinners. They are winning the match, but everything hinges on Bangladesh’s bowling performance in the day’s concluding session.

How Rizwan bats in the last innings will determine a lot for Pakistan. The middle order was under strain as star batsmen Shan Masood and Babar Azam failed to put up a good show once more.
