Shai Hope proud after ‘complete game’ vs Pakistan

In the third ODI of the three-match series between Pakistan and the West Indies, Shai Hope evaluated both his own and the team’s performance. Notably, the West Indies amassed 202 runs thanks to Shai Hope 18th ODI century. Justin Greaves’s (43* off 24) last touches in the final overs and his own performance (120* off 94) were discussed by the West Indian captain.

It was crucial that we delve deeply. In the powerplay, you aim to establish the mood. I also wanted the squad to have the best possible finish. We have had difficulties. We were thinking of 270–280. We wanted to take advantage of the wickets we had. During the post-match presentation, Shai Hope said, “Justin (Greaves) came in and played well.”

He is a model citizen: Wishing for Seales

Jaydon Seales’ career-best performance (6/18 in 7.2 overs) was praised by the wicketkeeper-batter, who also noted that he was a better bowler while bowling with the white ball as opposed to Tests.

“Today’s game was rather comprehensive. I am really proud. We often focus on the bad things. Over the past few years, we have been making history. It’s amazing to watch the guys pull this off. Jayden (Seales) is a bowler of distinction. What excites me more is his preparation. He is a model citizen. He has two ways of moving the ball.

In white-ball cricket, I’m bowling lot better,” Shai Hope continued.

After a 34-year wait, the West Indies made history in Tarouba by defeating Pakistan in their first-ever bilateral ODI series. Way back in 1991, they had already defeated Pakistan 0–2 on away pitch.

After losing by five wickets in the first game of the series, the hosts recovered impressively to win the final 50-over section. The T20I series was won by Pakistan by the same score.
