Shaheen Afridi praises the kind greeting Indian supporters have given the Pakistani team since their arrival in Hyderabad, saying, "Great welcome so far."

The gifted fast bowler Shaheen Afridi couldn’t contain his enthusiasm and posted on his official Instagram account. Pakistan’s tournament campaign is off to a good start thanks to the encouraging response from Indian cricket fans. India’s Hyderabad was mentioned in his story.

The countdown is on as the Pakistan cricket team, captained by Babar Azam, travels to India to compete in the eagerly awaited World Cup 2023, which will begin on October 5 and go through November 19. Tight security was in place when the squad arrived, highlighting the significance of this cricketing event. When the Pakistani team arrived in India, they were welcomed with great fanfare. When they arrived at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, they were greeted enthusiastically by fans and supporters.

“Great welcome thus far,” Shaheen Afridi said in the description of an Instagram story to thank the country’s people and the city for their welcoming hospitality.

At Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Pakistan will play two exhibition games against New Zealand and Australia as part of their preparations for the ODI World Cup 2023. Friday, October 6, is the day of their opening matchup against the Netherlands.

We haven’t played in India before, but we’re not putting too much pressure on ourselves.

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, spoke to the media prior to their departure and described the goals and outlook of his squad. He gave the Pakistani team his word that they would work hard to perform well under pressure and not be intimidated by the situation. Babar Azam expressed his goal to win the coveted trophy as well as a top-four finish with an air of assurance.

“We’re all happy of the World Cup trip we took. We haven’t played in India before, but we don’t feel any pressure. We’ve done our investigation, and we’ve heard that the circumstances are comparable to those in other Asian nations. I consider it a great honor to travel this time as the team’s captain, and I sincerely hope that we return home with a trophy,” Babar Azam was quoted as saying by India Today.

“The top four is a modest objective for us. We want to triumph in the end. Because we had been playing for so long straight, we did not have enough time to organize a camp prior to the World Cup. We wanted to give the guys a rest so they would return revitalized and hungry for victory. When you have that hunger, you play well,” he said.
