The Jharkhand State Cricket Association has elected Saurabh Tiwary and Shahbaz Nadeem, two former Indian cricket players, to be its secretary and joint secretary, respectively. Tiwary defeated SB Singh by a wide margin of 438–194 in the recently held committee elections. In a similar vein, Nadeem defeated Raj Kumar Sharma 409-199.
Early in 2024, the two cricket players who have contributed significantly to Jharkhand’s success throughout the years announced their retirement from professional cricket. Tiwary and Nadeem represented India in three One-Day Internationals and two Test matches, respectively. They gained a lot of experience over the years and proved to be dependable domestic cricket players, despite the fact that their international careers were never able to take off.
Tiwary played for the state for just over 17 years and captained Jharkhand 88 times in various formats. In the 2004–05 season, Nadeem, just 15 years old, made his Jharkhand First-Class debut. The two recently competed in the 2025 International Masters League as representatives of India Masters.
Shahbaz Nadeem and Tiwary participated in 72 and 93 IPL games, respectively.
In the Indian Premier League, the two also had respectable runs. In 2015, the two used the same dressing room for the Delhi Capitals. In 74 innings, Tiwary amassed 1494 runs with a strike rate of 120.09. Using his left-arm spin, Shahbaz Nadeem claimed 48 wickets in 70 innings while keeping his economy rate at 7.56.
