Tickets for the second Test against Australia in Delhi have sold out, the DDCA joint secretary reports.
On Friday, February 17, the second Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia will start at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

After more than five years, Delhi will host a Test match for the first time. India won the first Test at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur by an innings and 132 runs in two and a half days to take a 1-0 lead in the four-match series.

There are roughly 40,000 seats available in the Arun Jaitley Stadium. 24,000 tickets were made available for purchase. According to the rules, 8000 were divided among the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) members. Some of the VIPs and VVIPs who will attend the game will sit in the remaining seats.

Families who will be serving as the match’s security are also given a section of the stadium. All of the tickets have been sold out, according to DDCA joint secretary Rajan Manchanda, who announced this on Tuesday. He added that the board anticipates a packed house for the Test match. Notably, a sizable crowd of fans attended the first Test at Nagpur.

“We anticipate a packed house because all of the tickets have been sold. Since a Test match is being played in Delhi for the first time in a long time, there is a lot of interest “Manchanda stated, according to NDTV.

India’s dominant performance in the Nagpur Test
On the first day of the first Test, Australia’s captain Pat Cummins decided to bat first after winning the toss. The Australian batsmen performed poorly, limiting them to just 177 runs in their opening innings. Ravindra Jadeja claimed a five-wicket haul, and Ravichandran Ashwin took three.

India amassed a massive 400 runs in their opening innings to gain a 223-run advantage, with captain Rohit Sharma scoring a century. As the first Indian skipper to score a century in every format of the game, Rohit achieved the historic feat. Australia could only muster 91 runs in their second innings on Day 3 as the hosts won the first Test of the series. India jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, which has improved their prospects of reaching the World Test Championship championship match.
