“We don’t have to worry about the weather in the final,” says Stephen Fleming ahead of the GT vs. CSK final show.

"We don't have to worry about the weather in the final," says Stephen Fleming ahead of the GT vs. CSK final show.

Everything is ready for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 Final’s most important game. The four-time IPL winners, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), will face the current champions, Gujarat Titans (GT). Both sides have won the title before, so it’s sure to be a great match. Stephen Fleming, the head coach of CSK, said that this shows that the team is very ready for their tenth IPL final in their 14 years of playing.

Even though CSK’s lead-up to the IPL final has been described as calm, Fleming was honest about the worry that has crept in. The 50-year-old also said that it was a big deal and that it was hard not to think about the future and dream about winning the title again.

The previous captain of New Zealand also said that the team is very excited, but they want to stay in the moment and deal with the challenges just like they have done all tournament long. Even though CSK has been to the finals more than any other team in the history of the event, they haven’t had the best record in the finals, winning only 4 out of 9 times.

“This is a big deal. The fears and excitement of being on a big stage just melt away. Having it is a good thing. It just depends on how you use your machine.

We have some good people around us, and we’re looking forward to this task,” Stephen Fleming said, as reported by Cricbuzz.

Since the conditions at Chepauk weren’t what CSK would have liked, the four-time IPL winners even lost their home games. With this in mind, Stephen Fleming thought that the team was better prepared to play in any weather because they had already played in bad weather so far in the event.

“We prepared so well in Chennai that we sometimes had trouble adapting to different situations when we played away. We are a little bit rounder this year. We just had to. Now, we don’t have to worry about what conditions we’ll get in the final. We’re a lot better off mentally than we were in the past,” the former New Zealand captain added.
