Ahead of the eagerly awaited match between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Sunday, April 13, the famed Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur is rushing to prepare. This is the first Indian Premier League (IPL) game scheduled to take place at the historic venue in 2025.
Notably, Sawai Man Singh II, the previous Maharaja of Jaipur, is honoured by the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, which was built in 1969.
The Rajasthan Royals, who played their first two home games this season in Guwahati, call it home. In the midst of the crowd enthusiasm leading up to the intense match, new claims have emerged accusing stadium officials of selling tickets in black.
Two days prior to the match between RR and RCB, a journalist documents the stadium’s state in a video posted to Rajasthan One’s Instagram account. She is seen criticising the facilities and questioning a young man who appears to be a member of the stadium administration about why the venue wasn’t completed by the deadline of April 4. The stadium would be fully prepared in time to host the game, the individual claimed.

There are claims of ticket sales on the black market.
The journalist continued by accusing the stadium’s management of selling black tickets to everyone, including the students. The young man, however, remained silent on the subject and insisted that the stadium will be prepared before to the game.
“However, if individuals have paid, what will we receive? Who do you answer me? The ticket was purchased by the person who paid. The price of the ticket is $20,000. The cost will be higher. Additionally, the length of the student queue was reported in the media. You didn’t mention that students would pay less for tickets. You sold black tickets. You sold black tickets. You made sales to students. You made sales to everyone. What is the system’s name, then? “And why not?” enquired the reporter.
The Rajasthan Police’s Cyber Crime Branch recently released a harsh warning to fans, cautioning them against purchasing tickets from unapproved sources. With two wins and three losses thus far in the IPL 2025, RR has not had the finest start. As for RCB, they have three victories and two losses going into the match.
