Ahead of the forthcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, India has been working hard but having a great time. Since many of the cricket players are visiting Australia for the first time, the team management is keeping things light in the dressing room. On the second practice day, Sarfaraz Khan and Shubman Gill were seen having a lengthy conversation. Later, the Mumbai native was also seen giving the young player a bat.
During Sarfaraz and Gill’s teasing at the WACA Ground nets, Mohammed Siraj and Rishabh Pant were also around. Sarfaraz was seen on his knees in the picture, giving the bat to Gill, who smiled and took it with humility.

In contrast, Sarfaraz was hit in the right elbow during the practice, but reports state that the injury was not life-threatening. As a precaution, the 27-year-old exited the nets, and the medical staff helped him in the centre. Due to his involvement in the series’ opening Test match at Perth’s Optus Stadium, it is anticipated that he will return to the nets on November 15.
If captain Rohit Sharma is unable to play, KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal would probably begin the batting. Meanwhile, Dhruv Jurel will be vying for Sarfaraz’s slot. In the unofficial Test match against Australia A, the keeper-batter had a great time with the bat, which may encourage the team management to give him a try in the first Test, which begins on November 22.
Nevertheless, the playing XI has not yet been determined by the team management. Additionally, Rohit’s availability will be a factor. In the first Test match in Bengaluru, Sarafaraz struck a century against New Zealand, but the flashy batsman did not leave an impression in the following two matches.
