Sanju Samson’s Treatment Criticised by Ex-KKR Player

Former Kolkata Knight Riders colleague Robin Uthappa has criticised Gautam Gambhir and the management for benching Sanju Samson in favour of Shubman Gill. Since the second Twenty20 International of the series against Australia, Samson has not been included in the T20I XI.

According to Uthappa, he doesn’t understand why Sanju Samson was initially taken out of the starting role. The former cricket player turned pundit emphasised Sanju Samson outstanding centuires as an opener.

“I would like to know what Abhishek and Samson’s relationship did so badly that it needed to be replaced. I comprehend Surya’s statement during the pre-series conference that Shubman was a member of the T20I team before to Sanju’s opportunity. In an interview with Star Sports, Uthappa said that he was the first young player to reach the hundred-mark in T20 cricket.

However, Sanju Samson received three tonnes when he finally had a chance.

Additionally, Uthappa publicly questioned the management, enquiring as to what Sanju Samson had done wrong to warrant his total removal from the system. Additionally, he believed that the batsman-wicketkeeper should have been given more time.

You have a tried-and-true opener who is currently averaging slightly less than Abhishek Sharma, so you’ve chosen to move him to the middle order before gradually dropping him out. I want to know what he did wrong. He is deserving of that chance,” he continued.

After recovering from a nerve-related neck injury that forced him to miss the second Test and the ODI series, Gill immediately returned to the T20I XI. The returns, though, have been insignificant. Up until now, Gill had scored four runs off two and a golden duck in Cuttack and Mullanpur, respectively, in the first two Twenty20 Internationals.

The vice captain of the Indian T20I team has so far been the subject of numerous enquiries. Gill and India will be hoping that he gets back to his best throughout the rest of the series. On December 14, the third game is scheduled to take place at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.
