Sanju Samson heartwarming "Men in Blue" social media post, "With Team India," wins over netizens.

When the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed their 15-member roster for the ODI World Cup 2023, Sanju Samson was one of the unfortunate cricketers who didn’t make the cut.

During the Asia Cup 2023, the Kerala cricketer traveled with the Indian team as a reserve. Prior to the final, when India defeated Sri Lanka by a margin of 10 wickets, he was sent back home because his services weren’t needed in the competition. When Samson was left off of India’s World Cup roster, fans and numerous former cricket players were shocked. The 28-year-old’s ODI average of 55.71 might have tipped the scales in his favor, but that didn’t end up being the case.

Sanju Samson birthplace of Thiruvananthapuram hosted a recent exhibition game between the Indian team and the Netherlands. Where the ‘Men in Blue’ were working out, there was a huge billboard of the wicketkeeper-batter. The skipper of the Rajasthan Royals posted a photo of the team rehearsing with his banner in the background on Instagram with the caption, “With Team India @ God’s own country!!”.

The Indian squad is attempting to win the ODI World Cup at home for the third time, and the supporters applauded Sanju Samson act to show his support for them.

The Netherlands and India’s pregame match was called off owing to the nonstop rain. In addition, both of these clubs’ prior exhibition games were canceled due to inclement weather. While India’s match against the defending champions England was called off before a ball was played, the Netherlands’ match against Australia ended in a no-result after only 37.2 overs of play.

On Sunday, October 8, in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, India will face Pat Cummins’ Australia in the tournament’s opening match. On the other side, Pakistan and Netherlands will square off in Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Friday, October 6.
