After Shubman Gill was held plumb in front, Virat Kohli, the top batsman for India, appeared to have unleashed a wave of intensity that looked to start with his sudden leap out to the middle. It was not to be, though, as Kohli was removed after only nine deliveries and one run added to India’s total.
Nevertheless, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar sent a critical tweet against the former captain of India because of the way that Kohli was removed. He did admit, though, that he felt sympathy for him.

Virat Kohli made an unusual attempt to sweep a slightly dipped Mitchell Santner delivery, but the ball crept beneath the bat and he ended up yorking himself.
To the deathly silence of a crowded MCA Stadium, Kohli limped back to the pavilion, clearly frustrated with himself. Since Kohli was not one of the batsmen using the sweep that early in the innings, the shot selection was unexpected.

There were four to be had: Ravi Shastri
Ravi Shastri, the former head coach of India, was commentating at the time and believed that Kohli should have handled the delivery without taking any chances instead of playing the shot.
“Very similar delivery; he could have struck it in the mid-on direction if he had taken it full. The fact that this ball was on the full made it simpler to throw away. Rather, he went too far across. He had the option of hitting it in the gap with a straighter bat. “It was four for the taking,” Shastri noted.

Thus far in the series, Kohli’s scores in the first three innings have been 0, 70, and 1. Given how easily the Kiwis are getting past the Indian spinners, India should not even imagine winning. Kohli will need to perform very well to approach the target that New Zealand is expected to set.
