In advance of the third Australia ODI, Sanjay Bangar stated, "The main wicketkeeper will be a big point."

On September 27, the third and final ODI between India and Australia will take place at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. Due to their victories in the first two ODIs, the hosts have already secured the series. The Men in Blue will continue to disagree over who will play the primary wicket-keeping position, according to former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar.

Notably, India’s 15-man ODI World Cup selection includes KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan as two choices. “I believe that a key issue will be who is the primary wicketkeeper. If KL Rahul is selected, Shreyas will bat at No. 4 and Rahul will bat at No. 5.

Ishan Kishan and Surya will then regrettably be absent from the final game, according to Sanjay Bangar, who spoke to Star Sports.

The former cricketer continued by saying that Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid would be more likely to trust the experienced off-spinner if Ravichandran Ashwin started the third ODI in place of Washington Sundar. In the second ODI, Ashwin too captured three wickets, giving India an unbeatable 2-0 series lead.

“I believe Ashwin would play at No. 8 if India intends to present the same lineup that will compete in the last ODI in Chennai. The fact that he is starting ahead of Sundar, who participated in the Asia Cup, indicates that the captain and coach have more faith in him, the 50-year-old continued.

In Indore, India defeated Australia by 99 runs using DLS.

India scored a massive 399 after accepting the offer to bat first, with Shubman Gill (104) and Shreyas Iyer (105) each making centuries in the rain-drenched second ODI at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. They weren’t the only ones who played well; KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav also did well, scoring 52 and 72* runs, respectively. Later, the hosts trounced Australia by 99 runs using the DLS technique, with three wickets each taken by Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin.
