Salman Agha confident on Pakistan's chances in Champions Trophy 2025

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the first significant ICC event to be held in Pakistan since the 1996 ODI World Cup, is set to begin on February 19 and Pakistan is thrilled to be co-hosting the competition. Salman Agha, the outstanding all-rounder and vice captain of Pakistan, has spoken out about the team’s preparation for the tournament.

The Men in Green will play their first match of the season against New Zealand in Karachi. On February 23, they will play their bitter rivals, India, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The final is set for March 9, and matches will also be played in Lahore and Rawalpindi.

The event is returning after an eight-year hiatus, and Salman Agha thinks Pakistan is ready to meet the rigorous standards.

“After a hard season that just ended and one that is yet to come, we are prepared for the Champions Trophy. “Our preparation is solid,” Cricket Pakistan cited Agha as saying.

Salman Agha, who has played a key role in Pakistan’s recent victories in the One-Day Internationals against South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Australia, also provided an update on the fitness of star opener Saim Ayub. There were concerns over Ayub’s availability for the event because to an ankle injury he sustained during the South Africa Test series.

According to the reports, Saim Ayub is expected to recuperate before to the Champions Trophy. Pray for a quick recovery for him,” he stated.

Salman noted that the atmosphere in international stadiums improves the players’ experiences and inspires them to play better. He also talked about how much fun it is to play in an ICC tournament in front of home crowds. The forthcoming home Test series against the West Indies and the tri-series involving South Africa and New Zealand, however, are Salman’s top priorities right now. For these assignments, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not yet revealed the teams.
