Salman Agha Backs Stability

Salman Agha, the captain of Pakistan’s T20I team, believes that the team would not change much and will look like the current roster when the T20 World Cup 2026 takes place in India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.

Additionally, he discussed the duties that the players in the 20-over team have been given and expressed his hope that they will follow them as the T20 World Cup approaches.

“I don’t think the national T20 team will undergo any significant changes prior to the World Cup. I believe that the team we now have will play in the World Cup.

In recent months, each player has been assigned a specific position, and as a result, the squad has advanced,” Salman Agha stated on the PCB podcast.

He went into further detail about his goal of winning the 2026 and 2027 white-ball World Cups. Salman Agha stated that the team needs to accomplish a little more to reach the top, despite his trust in his group of players.

“We should win the 2026 T20 World Cup and the 2027 ODI World Cup, in my opinion. My dream is to win both World Cups, and I will be overjoyed if it comes to pass. The Sri Lanka series will help the new players before the World Cup because senior players are familiar with Sri Lankan pitches. Although the club is headed in the right direction, they can yet do better. “We want Pakistan to get to the point where everyone wants to see it,” he continued.

Pakistan has participated in several Twenty20 International series till date. Following the Pakistan Super League, the Green Shirts played in two tri-nation T20I series against South Africa (home), Bangladesh (away), and the West Indies (away).

Regarding the 2026 T20 World Cup, Pakistan is in Group A, which also includes the United States, Namibia, India, and the Netherlands. Every Pakistani game will take place at a different location in Sri Lanka.
