The assistant coach for Bangladesh, Muhammad Salahuddin, is scheduled to leave his role following the forthcoming home series against Ireland.
Salahuddin joined BCB on November 5 and had a contract that would have lasted until the 2027 World Cup, but after a year with the national team, he chose to leave for personal reasons.
The country’s top local coach acknowledged the development after Cricbuzz learned that he had previously submitted a letter of resignation to the board because he was not enjoying his position.
“Yes, I am resigning,” Salahuddin said to Cricbuzz on Tuesday without providing any other details.
The team’s recent poor performance has put Salahuddin, who has been in charge of the batting unit since BCB opted to fire David Hemp, at the bottom of the list.
As a result, the BCB has named Mohammad Ashrafulas the national team’s batting coach for the Ireland series.
Ireland will play two Test matches and a three-match T20I series during their tour, which is anticipated to begin on November 6. November 11–15 is the date of the first test in Sylhet, while November 19–23 is the date of the second test in Dhaka.
On November 27 and 29, respectively, the three-match T20I series will take place in Chattogram, with the third match taking place on December 2.
