The role of spinners has altered significantly in the white-ball format, particularly in Twenty20 Internationals, according to Sairaj Bahutule, who is now with Men in Blue as an interim bowling coach for the current series against the Proteas. Bahutule went on to describe the true function of a spinner in this game format after considering how the spinners bowled in the second match while defending a meagre target set at St. George’s Park, Gqeberha.
On Wednesday, November 13, the third Twenty20 International in the current series between South Africa and India will be played at Centurion’s SuperSport Park. Since the batting unit failed to produce in the last match, India dominated the Proteas, but the first two games have let the opposition level the series. The victor of the most recent matchup will now make sure they win the series.
“Spin bowling has changed throughout time. You must possess both courage and bravery. They must truly comprehend that each ball is an event by playing 24 balls. I believe our bowling in the last game was excellent.
In a video that the BCCI posted, Sairaj Bahutule remarked, “The players, fielders, and bowlers did a fabulous job defending 124 runs.”
The 51-year-old also believes that there isn’t much to teach the team in terms of skill set because most of them have extensive experience playing both internationally and in the Indian Premier League. Bahutule claims that it benefits the coaching staff to let the players play to their strengths rather than trying to make too many changes.
“They seem like seasoned players to me. They have participated in numerous international and IPL cricket matches. However, we aim to keep things straightforward and simply ensure that they perform to the best of their abilities and skills,” Bahutule continued.
“All the execution, whatever is needed from us, has been fulfilled, and I think they’re looking forward to the third T20 and hopefully get the series in our way,” the native of Mumbai said.

Nobody believes 124 can be protected, yet we nearly succeeded: Kanitkar Hrishikesh
All of the players are confident, according to Hrishikesh Kanitkar, India’s interim batting coach, because of the match preparation and awareness that are particularly needed in the 20-over format.
