After Sai Sudharsan of Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL) on Sunday with a game-winning century, Ajay Jadeja showered accolades on the batting wonder. With 12 fours and four sixes in his undefeated 108 off 61 balls, Sai Sudharsan helped the former champions easily defeat a 200-run mark. The visitors easily won with 10 wickets and an over remaining thanks to an outstanding 93* not out from 53 deliveries from GT captain Shubman Gill.
In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Jadeja claimed that Sudharsan had surpassed Shubman Gill, who may be India’s captain in the future. With 617 runs from 12 games at an average of 56.10 and a strike rate of 157, the left-handed batter is now the IPL Orange Cap holder. Shubman, meanwhile, has amassed 601 runs from 12 games this season, averaging 60.10 and hitting at 155.70, making him the second-highest run scorer.
Jadeja commented on how visually appealing Sai Sudharsan game is.
In contrast to his opening partner, Sai Sudharsan has scored his runs without taking many chances, the former Indian batsman continued. He believed that whereas Sudharsan appeared to have no trouble against Axar Patel and company, Shubman was having trouble timing the ball against Delhi and had to use his power game to score his runs.
The future captain of India has been surpassed by Sai Sudharsan. His batting is very appealing. He wasn’t just ahead of Shubman in the game against the Delhi Capitals, either. In the past games, he has also appeared to be a more capable batter than Gill. In contrast to Shubman, he bats with less danger,” Jadeja stated on Star Sports.
“Sai is playing alongside a highly skilled player who frequently represents India in cricket. Sai was comfortable, but Gill struggled to timing the ball against Delhi and need strong blows to get going,” Jadeja said.
Gujarat secures a spot in the playoffs
The Gujarat Titans secured their spot in the playoffs with their decisive victory on Sunday. At the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, they will play their penultimate round-robin match against the Lucknow Super Giants on Thursday, May 22, as they lead the points table.
