Sai Kishore acknowledged the Chennai Super Kings’ contribution to his development as a cricket player. The left-arm spinner, who is currently with Gujarat Titans, revealed that his two years with the Men in Yellow were more like a “internship” than anything else.
During his two years with CSK, Kishore primarily played as a net bowler and was not given the opportunity to represent the team. He did appear to have a lot of good encounters with the franchise, though.
“Yes, CSK had a significant influence on how I developed. It was like an internship for two years! The first side to select me from the [Syed] Mushtaq Ali Trophy auction was CSK. The value of those two years was enormous. I gained a lot of knowledge; in the past, I was always curious in how to respond to various circumstances. But in all honesty, learning happens only when you play. In an interview with JioHotstar, Kishore said, “You can have all these theories in your head, but it only sticks when you experience it on the pitch.”
Sai Kishore considers how Dhoni, Nehra, and Ashwin influenced him.
The astute cricketer discussed how players like MS Dhoni, Ashish Nehra, and Ravichandran Ashwin have all influenced him to become a better bowler and professional cricketer.
“MS Dhoni has had a significant impact on me; I can’t see beyond him. His team leadership style and his composed approach to various situations have greatly influenced how I view the game and conduct myself. Ashu [Nehra] pa, our coach, is another significant influence. His approach to managing the team is distinct; it’s uncommon for a coach to be that composed and in charge. Additionally, Ashu [Ashwin] bhai has had a significant influence on me. Thus, I would say that Ashu bhai and MS Dhoni are the two individuals who have had the biggest influence on my cricket,” Kishore continued.
This season, Kishore has been playing well for GT. As of now, he has taken 14 wickets in 11 games during his third stint with the team. On Sunday, May 11, the 2022 winners will play the Delhi Capitals in Delhi.
