The ODI World Cup 2023 eventually began on Thursday, October 5, in Ahmedabad, after much waiting and expectation, with the defending champions England being completely destroyed by New Zealand.

The World Cup, which is being entirely hosted by India for the first time, began when the iconic Sachin Tendulkar brought the trophy out onto the field. He described the event as “surreal” and recalled India’s famous victory over Australia in the quarterfinals of the 2011 ODI World Cup in Ahmedabad.

The act of carrying the trophy onto the field was unreal. We ended up competing here in a quarterfinal matchup with Australia, and that evening was quite memorable for us. to return here, to the same stadium, after 12 years. In fact, a good thing has happened. Before 2011, no host country had ever taken home the trophy. After that, all home countries have triumphed. Keeping our fingers crossed because India is hosting, Sachin Tendulkar said while speaking with the ICC’s Digital Insider.

Without a question, India. We have a fantastic, well-rounded team: Sachin Tendulkar

When it came to making a prediction for the ODI World Cup 2023 semifinals, the “Master Blaster” joined many other experts. He predicted four teams to advance to the last-four stage: hosts India, five-time winners Australia, defending champions England, and last year’s finalist New Zealand. He also provided justification for his predictions.

Without a question, India. We have a fantastic, well-rounded crew. In the same way, Sachin Tendulkar believe Australia’s team is well-balanced. England would be the third one I would mention. England is once again a highly powerful team that combines veteran players with some fresh talent. New Zealand would be my fourth team choice. They competed in the 2015 and 2019 championship games. According to their past performance, New Zealand has always performed well in world championships, and Tendulkar predicted that they would reach the semifinals.
