S Sreesanth responded to Gautam Gambhir's criticism of MS Dhoni as?

S Sreesanth, a former Indian pacer, responded to Gautam Gambhir’s criticism of Mahendra Singh Dhoni as a “sacrifice.” The former India opener emphasised Dhoni’s leadership of the team and claimed it surpassed his offensive accomplishments in ODIs.

In response to Gautam Gambhir assertion, S Sreesanth said that Dhoni put the success of the team ahead of his own achievements. The previous captain of India, who won two World Cups, was a brilliant finisher, the speaker said.

Gautam Gambhir Bhai recently said that had Dhoni batted at No. 3, he would have scored more runs. But for Dhoni, it was more important to get more wins than to score more runs. Sreesanth said of him, “He always had the capacity to finish games when the team needed him, and he won two World Cups as well.

The 40-year-old went on to remark that Dhoni deserved accolades but that he kept his spot in the batting order. In addition, he said that the illustrious wicketkeeper-batter always placed the team’s needs first and was able to get the greatest performance out of his players.

“Dhoni deserves credit, but he didn’t forego his batting stance. He devised a method to identify the players who would perform best for the squad at each position, and he then placed them there appropriately. His leadership had the power to inspire the greatest performance from his team. He continued, “He has always put the team first.

One of the greatest captains India has ever had is Dhoni. Since being selected India’s captain in September 2007, the 42-year-old has helped the team to the top of the ICC Test rankings.

The legendary wicketkeeper-batter is the only captain to take home all three of the major ICC titles, including the Champions Trophy (2013), ODI World Cup (2011), and T20 World Cup (2007). He made his final appearance for India in the 2019 World Cup semifinal match against New Zealand before announcing his retirement in 2020.
