Ryan Rickelton had hit the Kiwi pacer to the boundary in the first over of the match for the second time.
In Match 69 of the current Indian Premier League between the Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Ryan Rickelton lofted a slot ball delivered by Kyle Jamieson for a one-bounce boundary towards the long-on region.
To get it over mid-on, the top-order batsman got under the length delivery. Despite not being hit off the middle of the bat, the ball nearly crossed the ropes on the full. A back-of-a-length delivery that was punched to cover point for no run was the subsequent delivery. MI was asked to bat first and ended up at 17/0 at the conclusion of two overs.

The first ball of the final over of the powerplay ended Rickelton’s knock. Rickelton was going to take Marco Jansen for a quick delivery. He ultimately spooned the ball straight up, though, and Shreyas Iyer went on to make a simple catch at mid-on. The southpaw scored 27 off 20 and left. He hit five fours during his innings.
Shreyas Iyer chose to field first after winning the toss earlier in the evening. Notably, the winner of this competition will work to guarantee a position in the top two in the standings. Speaking about PBKS, they have only advanced to the playoffs twice in IPL history, the first being in the 2014 tournament. Their goal would be to finish their trophy drought and go all the way. MI will be seeking to win their sixth championship.
