Amit Mishra, a former Indian cricket player, has discussed Rohit Sharma’s improved fitness and physical makeover. Earlier this year, when he had a four-month break from cricket from June to October, the former captain of India put a lot of effort into becoming healthy. He appeared to be in excellent form with the bat upon his comeback, and he was named Australia’s Player of the Series.
Mishra cautioned Rohit against making too many changes to his exercise regimen and clarified that he shouldn’t pursue his fitness to make a point or look fit for the sake of it. Mishra, who used to train with Rohit for the Deccan Chargers and India, also discussed how the modern idea of fitness has evolved and how sportsmen typically prefer speedy outcomes.
“Everyone has a unique body. It’s a different kind. These days, appearances are used to measure fitness. to appear slender. Having a real body and staying fit is preferable. Work hard, eat healthily, and you’ll stay in shape. Maintain a healthy diet and follow your instincts. Be fit, not just fit-looking. I won’t identify them, but there are numerous instances of people who quickly made themselves appear fit yet afterward experienced numerous physical problems. It’s best to eat healthily, get enough sleep, and engage in natural activities. Go to the gym; it’s beneficial, but go outside and run as well,” Mishra stated through MensXP.
Mishra continued by describing how Rohit had previously been a fit individual as well.
In his account of his own playing days, the former leg-spinner went into detail about how the 38-year-old would actively participate in both batting and fielding.
“Rohit Sharma is fit and has returned. He used to be fit too. He and I have played together. Although he was referred to be “heavy,” I never thought he was slow or incapable of scoring runs. He was active and fielded as well; it wasn’t like he would bat and go out. Everybody has a viewpoint and an opinion,” he continued.
Since leading India to the Champions Trophy victory, the Nagpur-born player has participated in six One-Day Internationals (ODIs), three against South Africa and Australia. The opening batsman had a respectable home series against South Africa in addition to his 210 runs in Australia, scoring 57, 14, and 75 in the three games.
