Rohit Sharma’s DRS Move Sparks Debate Among Australia Legends

After a third-umpire ruling in the first innings of the current second ODI between Australia and India favored Rohit Sharma, former Australian cricketer Mark Waugh has harshly attacked the Decision Review System (DRS) technology.

The tourists finished with 264/9 in 50 overs after batting first, with Rohit leading the way for India with 73 off 97 in Adelaide.

Waugh mentioned Josh Hazlewood’s dissatisfaction after the third umpire reversed the LBW ruling. The front-on replays, according to Waugh, showed that the ball had obviously missed making any contact with the bat, in contrast to the Snickometer, which indicated that the ball had an inside edge before it thudded into the pads.

You see Hazlewood saying, ‘I didn’t hear anything,’ there. He hit it, and I don’t get it. He was, in my opinion, late. Speaking to Fox Cricket, Mark Waugh said, “To be honest with you, I can’t see an inside edge on that.”

India finished this over with a score of 17/0 in six overs. In the next over, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill were dismissed off Xavier Bartlett’s delivery. Bartlett’s first match of the series saw him hit two runs in his second over.

At the end of fifty overs, the Men in Blue were at 264/9. After Kohli (0 off 3) and Shubman Gill (9 off 9) fell, he and Shreyas Iyer (61 off 77) put on a 136-ball 118-run partnership for the third wicket.

Rohit Sharma scored 73 off 97, the highest score.

Four wickets were taken by Adam Zampa (4/60 in 10 overs) and three by Xavier Bartlett (3/39 in 10 overs). Despite Josh Hazlewood’s 10-over restriction, only 29 runs were given up. During the innings, Mitchell Marsh used eight bowlers in all.
