Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by six wickets at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in their previous 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) match. MI chased down a target of 200 runs in 16.3 overs, thanks to an outstanding performance by Suryakumar Yadav (83 runs off 35 balls). Nehal Wadhera also made a significant contribution, scoring 52 runs off 34 deliveries.

Despite MI’s outstanding batting performance, RCB captain Rohit Sharma’s poor form persisted as he was dismissed for seven runs off eight balls. It is noteworthy that Team India’s captain has scored only 191 runs in 11 innings, including a single fifty.

Former West Indies captain Daren Ganga has now devised a strategy for Rohit Sharma, who is experiencing a dry spell. He provided the example of Virat Kohli and discussed how the former India captain regained his form after a disastrous stretch. He stated that Rohit is experiencing a similar circumstance to Kohli, as he is currently playing a great deal of cricket.

“There is no question that he is an excellent performer. Prior to regaining his form and determination to score runs, Virat Kohli’s batting was in a lull.

The Hindustan Times quoted Ganga as saying, “Rohit is going through a similar situation in which he is playing a lot of cricket; sometimes as a player, you can become jaded, (with) the responsibilities as captain, as a player.”

Rohit should take a vacation before the WTC final, according to Ganga Ganga. The World Test Championship (WTC) final between India and Australia is scheduled to begin on June 7 at the Oval in London. A sabbatical, according to the 44-year-old, will also help him return to form in time for the October–November 2023 Cricket World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in India.

“You have heard Sunil Gavaskar suggest that he take a vacation and clear his head before the World Test Championship—that could be a good idea for him. I felt that the couple of matches he played as an impact player with Suryakumar Yadav guiding the side could be a common ground for him to get a little more time for himself so that he can bat in the WTC final  fresh, he added.
