Look: Joyful After winning the T20 World Cup, Rohit Sharma releases his inner child upon arriving in Delhi

India defeated South Africa in the 2024 edition’s final on June 29 to win their second T20 World Cup trophy. India won by seven runs under Rohit Sharma’s leadership in a closely contested match. After two near misses, Rohit’s first ICC trophy as captain was this one. He was defeated by Australia in the World Test Championship 2023 final, and the same opponent stopped him in the 2023 World Cup final. The 37-year-old was overjoyed after winning, and his innocent attitude was evident.

Videos show that Rohit Sharma was having fun the entire time as India took off from Barbados and headed back home. When the Indian squad finally arrived in Delhi after a 16-hour flight, the supporters’ excitement was on par with the opener, who was spotted sticking his tongue out and flashing the trophy to them. When he first arrived at the ITC Maurya Hotel in Delhi, he was also spotted dancing to Bhangra music.

I think that fate will write what is to happen: Rohit Sharma

After an 11-year break, Rohit has been in the forefront of leading India to the ICC silverware. As a result of their unblemished record throughout the competition, the squad became the first to win the T20 World Cup title. The right-handed hitter led the squad in scoring with 92 runs in just 41 balls against Australia, an incredible performance. Following India’s victory, Rohit declared that the country was destined to become champions.

In the post-match press conference, Rohit stated, “Yes, it’s necessary. I believe that what’s written in destiny will happen. I think this was written, but obviously no one knew it’s written. That’s the game. Otherwise we would have come casually and said it’s written, we’ll win everything, but I think everything has to fall in place.”
