In the second ODI against Sri Lanka in Colombo, India skipper Rohit Sharma grabbed headlines once more for his on-field antics. After Washington Sundar twice lost his footing, the 37-year-old was seen lunging towards him with a punch in the match’s 33rd over.
When it happened again, Rohit Sharma, who was stationed at slips, lost it because he was upset at the previous occurrence.
Sundar turned around and grinned as soon as he saw him running in his direction. As the footage went viral on social media, Hindi pundits Aakash Chopra and Ajay Jadeja also made jokes about the fact that goalie KL Rahul was also in splits.

But Sundar did well in the second One-Day International, taking three vital wickets of Avishka Fernando, Kusal Mendis, and skipper Charith Asalanka. In his ten overs, he conceded just thirty runs, but Sri Lanka amassed 240 runs in the opening session. Axar Patel and Mohammed Siraj each claimed one wicket, while Kuldeep Yadav claimed two for India.
Remarkably, during the game, Rohit also bowled a few overs. In light of the team management’s stated desire for more batsmen to bowl during the series, Rinku Singh and Suryakumar Yadav were observed bowling in the third Twenty20 International. Taking charge this time, Rohit conceded 11 runs in two overs. In 2023, the skipper bowled in the ODI World Cup against the Netherlands.

In the meantime, India needs to get off to a fast start in the second ODI in order to win the series 1-0. The captain wants to keep playing the way he did in the first ODI. He was excellent.
