'Mentally strong, adaptation is not a problem'- Rohit Sharma on India playing Day-Night Test after long wait

India’s last Day-Night Test match against Australia ended in a crushing defeat when the visitors were bowled out for 36 runs in the second innings. India has been repeatedly reminded of their last humiliating performance in the series, but this time the visitors are ahead 1-0 and the pressure is equally on the Pat Cummins-led team ahead of their next match against Australia in Adelaide.

The ball arrives quickly after hitting the surface, making it difficult to become used to Pink Ball, according to a number of specialists in recent years. Speaking on the subject, captain Rohit Sharma said his side will not have any trouble adapting because they are a mentally tough group. A few important players missed the first Test in Perth, he reminded them, but other players came through when needed and completed the task. According to the 37-year-old, the players should continue their exploits and increase their series advantage.

We have a strong mentality, so we have no trouble adapting. It’s easy for us to try to do our best when things get tough. At cricket’s greatest level, you won’t receive easy things. We were missing some of our guys, even in Perth. Everyone played their part and kept their heads down, and the outcome favoured us. We must approach this Test match similarly. At the news conference, Rohit stated, “If every member of the XI plays their part, the outcome could be in our favour.”

In addition, Rohit Sharma has no desire to recall past events or India’s performance against Australia in the Day-Night Test.

He emphasised that each day is new, that he is anticipating the next game, and that he expects the players to come in with a different attitude.

“Even if you’re betting on 90 or 99, you come to bat the next day, you start on zero,” we were taught when we first started playing. Every day presents new difficulties, and batters and bowlers have distinct mindsets. Our basic message for so many years has been to put our attention on the future and not on the past,” Rohit stated.
