Despite their victory over New Zealand, Rohit Sharma is unimpressed, saying, "We Really Slipped Up..."

Indian captain Rohit Sharma stated that his team “slipped up with the ball” despite their victory over New Zealand in the first one-day international (ODI), which India won by 12 runs.

In the first match of the three-match series, which took place on Wednesday in Hyderabad, India defeated New Zealand by a score of 12 runs thanks to an outstanding bowling performance from Mohammed Siraj. This victory helped India overcome a late onslaught from Michael Bracewell and Mitchell Santner, who are both all-rounders. The match was the first of the three-match series.

“To tell you the truth, the way Bracewell was hitting the ball and the way it came on to the bat well indicated that he was making clean ball strikes.

We were aware that if we bowled well, we would be fine, unless there was a significant mistake that we made with the ball. Unfortunately, that turned out to be the case.

I did mention at the coin toss that I would like for us to provide a challenge to ourselves; the current circumstance is not exactly what I had anticipated, but that is the reality of the situation “said Rohit during the presentation that took place after the match.

The captain also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Shubman Gill, who struck an explosive double century, and Mohammed Siraj, who was the pacer for the team.”

He (Gill) is making excellent progress. Because of the form that he was in, we decided to back him in the SL series because we wanted to take advantage of it. The batter is allowed to flow freely, and the process is really thrilling to watch.

Not just in this match, but also in red-ball matches, T20 matches, and now one-day internationals, Siraj has been outstanding. It’s really impressive to watch what he can do with the ball.

Putting into action what he wants to accomplish, and the strategies he has in place are crystal obvious. Which is exactly as it ought to be, “Rohit drew to a close.

India has a score of 349-8 after the first fifty overs of the match. Gill had the highest score of the match with 208 runs. Additionally, the team’s Skipper, Rohit Sharma (34), as well as Suryakumar Yadav (31) and Hardik Pandya (28), played some significant knocks.

The all-rounder Daryl Mitchell had the best bowling performance for the New Zealanders with 2/30. Along with Henry Shipley, Lockie Ferguson, Blair Tickner, and Mitchell Santner each grabbed one wicket, there were also two wickets taken by Henry Shipley.

In their pursuit of 351, Indian spinners initially dominated the New Zealand batting lineup, reducing them to 131/6. Opener Finn Allen (40) was a key contributor to this total.

However, a stand for the seventh wicket between Michael Bracewell and Mitchell Santner turned the game completely around. The hitters absolutely destroyed the Indian bowlers across the entire park. While Santner also hit a half-century, Bracewell scored his second century in one-day international competition.

However, India was able to make a comeback thanks to Mohammed Siraj, who, after capturing early wickets, helped India break the 162-run stand by dismissing Santner for 57 runs.

Shardul Thakur took the wicket of Bracewell after he had scored a brave 140 off 78 balls, which included 12 fours and 10 sixes. There were only 20 runs needed in the last over.

India triumphed over their opponents by a score of 12 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Due to his double century, Shubman Gill was awarded “Man of the Match” honours.
